I am a perpetual student. I attend professional development with my laptop and notebook, my eyes wide open, and my ears perked to listen. I admit it, I sit upfront. This past week, I attended an annual superintendent's conference. We listened and learned together. This year, more than ever, this exchange of ideas became public. Myself and my colleagues actively tweeted out photos, quotes, and reflections on our Twitter accounts (#2014EI). By using Twitter, our exchange reached beyond our shores to an increasingly shrinking globe. Our PLN is glowing and growing! Below are some images I took of the conference. Starting from the top left, Commissioner Mitchell Chester, Secretary of Education Matt Malone, social media expert Nicco Mele, author and historian Doris Kearns-Goodwin, Governor Deval Patrick, Representative Alice Peisch (chairwoman of the Joint Committee on Education), and Stephen Hemman of the Massachusetts Association of Regional Schools.
