We are in the beginning stages of developing a new magazine-style local television show about the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District. We will run three shows a year. We intend to use this new platform to showcase our schools and provide a forum for the community to see the wonderful things happening in G-D! We are still in the planning stages, but hope to air our first show in late fall or early winter. I would like to thank Mrs. Audra Kaplan (a technology integration specialist at the HS) for her leadership in this pursuit. She will be instrumental in facilitating the student support aspect of our program. Students will participate in the filming and editing of the show. In addition, our wonderful students will be the "stars", as we will be highlighting the great staff and students in Groton-Dunstable. I would also like to thank Bob Coleman from the Groton Channel and the high school's own Mr. Mark Rocheleau (a technology/engineering teacher), who are providing their expertise to this project-both with extensive local television experience. The show will be co-hosted by myself and Mr. Luke Callahan, the new Director of Technology, Information, and Media Relations. Current special correspondents will be Dr. Katie Novak (Assistant Superintendent) and Mr. Michael Mastrullo (GDRHS Principal). I would also like to thank technology department staff Gary Babin and Joe Bisbee, who attended a recent planning meeting, for their willingness to lend a hand in this endeavor. Each year, we will pick a theme. Segments will be filmed at schools and around the community. We will be sure that all G-D schools will be represented at least once annually. At this early stage, we will be working with students and staff to develop a set, a logo, and a theme song. As for the larger community, we are asking for your ideas for a name for our show. Thanks for your support and stay tuned for more to come on this exciting project!
